She came to Texas Woman’s without her family, leaving behind five children and a husband in her home country, Zambia. Today, she is the first woman in Zambia to have earned a PhD in speech therapy, has established the country’s first speech pathology rehabilitation center, and started Zambia’s first bachelor’s program in speech and language pathology. 8 | Boldly Go
